NRA-ILA 2019 Second Amendment Activist Center Award Winners

The NRA-ILA Second Amendment Activist Center of the Year Award recognizes the exceptional performance of our dedicated Second Amendment Activist Centers. In 2019, we had two Second Amendment Activist Centers in Virginia who stepped up to get involved in all of our efforts: Bob’s Gun Shop in Norfolk and SSG Tactical in Fredericksburg.

Both Bob’s Gun Shop and SSG Tactical were engaged in our NRA-ILA efforts throughout the entire year of 2019. When the Virginia Governor called a special session to “address gun violence”, both gun shops were actively involved in educating their customers and working to get gun rights supporters to show up at the Capitol in Richmond. Since Bob’s Gun Shop is located in Norfolk, which is several hours away from Richmond, they rented a bus to help transport passionate supporters to the capitol.  

After the Special Session, both gun shops quickly turned their eyes towards ways they could get involved in our election efforts. Both businesses routinely hosted NRA Days, election related workshops, and grassroots meetings. They also helped to educate their patrons about the importance of the 2019 Virginia elections, and distributed materials to everyone who walked in the door. 

Their hospitality and willingness to help enhance the NRA-ILA’s grassroots network in any way, shape or form, is an example to other 2A Centers across the country.
